Paul Shin Memorial Award

Each year an individual is selected to receive the Paul Shin Memorial Award in recognition for his or her dedication to engage the public with science in some format. The award especially recognizes "unsung heroes" who have demonstrated commitment and passion to these endeavors. COPUS is particularly keen to recognize individuals for whom science communication may not be part of an everyday job, but who nevertheless give their time and energy to enhance the public understanding of science. Individuals need not be affiliated with an educational or scientific institution.

  • Applications are accepted year round but must be received prior to February 15th of the calendar year in which the award is being given to be considered for that year's award.
  • Award recipients are selected in early February of the award year.
