Members of LILTA seek to improve the academic achievement of all students on Long Island by removing obstacles to educational opportunity, and promoting and celebrating school/community partnerships, which have as their goal the elimination of barriers to equal access to education for all students. We envision communities where students have resources to realize their hopes and dreams; where middle school students have guidance from their college level mentors in an academically based after school science program. We will continue to guide the students throughout high school in their scientific endeavors.
